Exactly a decade ago five boys from Orlando formed a little-known group called the Backstreet Boys. Today, they’re fully-grown men, still touring the world and officially the biggest boy band in history with more than 130 million records sold. Though four members of the group are married with children (A.J. McLean, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, and Howie Dorough), the youngest member, Nick Carter, is still a bachelor.
But it won’t be for long. The 33-year old just proposed to competitive fitness expert Lauren Kitt in February. Now, Carter is on a world tour for the band’s latest album, In A World Like This, and is embarking on the next phase of his life, which includes another solo album, producing a horror flick, and finally walking down the altar.
While in Cincinnati for one stop of the tour we caught up with Carter to talk about how he stays relevant among new boy bands like One Direction, if he could take on Justin Timberlake in an arm-wrestling competition, how he might film his wedding for a new reality show, and whether he believes those pelvic thrust dance moves get better with age.
