Nick posted on twitter that the boys will be heading back to London in July to record the new Backstreet Boys album.
nickcarter: A little birdie told me that @backstreetboys will be recording a new album in London for a couple weeks… Spread the word!
He also commented on the MTV poll where he mentioned they’d be going to London in July.
Last month Howie along with Joey McIntyre did a interview with Digital Spy. Howie discusses a bit about the new album. Howie also recently posted on twitter that he was in LA. So this must mean soon they’ll start working on the new album!
Howie – how is the new Backstreet Boys album coming along?
Howie: “We’re doing a lot of pre-production. We’re getting the producers and writing schedules put together and come the middle of next month we’ll finally get into the actual studio in LA.”
What kind of style do you want to use for the new album?
Howie: “Right now we’re totally in experimentation stages. We’re trying to figure it out, we’re still a little bit unsure if we want a little bit more of what we did in the last record or whether we want to experiment and go in a different direction. We are who we are, we’re a vocal harmony group, so we’re not going to be doing a rock or rap album or anything.”

In a recent interview with Artist Direct AJ talks a bit about the new BSB album that they will work on after the NKOTBSB tour.
What’s next for you in terms of new music?
We’ve taken a couple of meetings with some different producers. We’re gearing up to go back in the studio in the fall to make the next Backstreet Boys record. We’ve got some great surprises for that record which will hopefully be announced on the cruise ship so the fans can look forward to that. We’ll probably be back in the studio in mid-October. We’re hoping to have a single out next spring and drop the album in the summer of 2012.

AJ did a interview with Sun Herald in Biloxi and talked a bit about the next album.
What’s next for the Backstreet Boys? Another album?
We are going back into the studio in September to work on the next record and we have some pretty big surprises for that — which we can’t talk about just yet, but I’m sure after say, the (June 8 ) Boston show, people will have an idea about that.

Backstreet Boys fall from grace in week two, thundering down more than 50 spots to #64 with This Is Us (down 80 percent with 8400 in sales).

Backstreet Boys net their seventh consecutive top 10 album on the Billboard 200 with “This Is Us,” starting at No. 9 with 42,000. The quartet’s last effort, 2007′s “Unbreakable,” entered and peaked at No. 7 with 81,000.

The boys new album ‘This Is Us’ is at #10 on the Hits Daily Double chart with only 41,090 copies sold. This is not the best showing for them. The album is great one of my favorites and it could of done better if radio airplay was better and more promo for radio. We’ll see tomorrow when Billboard releases the new charts.
SONG ON NEW BACKSTREET BOYS ALBUM!
I cowrote a song on the new Backstreet Boys album (get it on itunes). Its called “Undone” and I cowrote it with my pal Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic. Its on of my favorite tunes we’ve written and the boys album is really cool. Check it out!
