Bollywood and Indian music are often discussed in Hollywood and are slowly becoming a rage, say members of popular American band Backstreet Boys.
“Bollywood is constantly mentioned in Hollywood. Indian music is very influential and is slowing becoming a rage in the US. Even Indian movies are big there like ‘Slumdog Millionaire’,” Nick Carter, a band member, said during a trip to India.
The band is even open to an Indian association, if they like the music.
“We are always on the lookout for something new. If it makes an impact on our vision, we are open to any collaboration,” said Carter.
The artists were in India to participate in the Romanov Red Rock ‘N India music festival, which was held in the capital and Bangalore last weekend. They belted out their all time hits at the shows.
When asked how they were feeling on Indian soil, Dorough replied, “This is our first trip here and we are so happy to be here. Hopefully, we will be back soon with our own show.”
Formed in 1993 in Orlando, Florida, Backstreet Boys originally had five members, A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson. However, in 2006 Richardson left the group to pursue other interests.

New Delhi, Feb 21 (IANS) American band Backstreet Boys’ maiden live performance in the capital Saturday was a treat for their fans, who danced and screamed along their way, making sure that they enjoyed every bit of their favourite band.
Though fans had to wait a bit longer, but once the band came on stage, they enthralled the audience and took them back the memory lane to the early 90s when the group was at its peak.
Backstreet Boys was performing at the annual Romanov Red Rock ‘N India music festival at NSIC ground in Okhla, where South African band Prime Circle & Jayce Lewis and Indian rock bands Indigo Children, Five Little Indians and Swarathma also performed. Read more… »

American boy band Backstreet Boys are set to perform in India, as a part of the annual Rock `n India mega music festival.
The band, which has given smashing hits like ‘Quit playing games’, ‘Get down’, ‘Show me the meaning of being lonely’, is all set to rub shoulders with legendary singer Richard Marx, South African alternative band Prime Circle & Jayce Lewis along with some Indian rock bands at the annual Rock `n India music festival in Delhi and Bangalore on Feb 20 and Feb 21 respectively.
Formed in 1993, the pop band has popular A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson as members. Later in 2006, Richardson left the group to pursue other interests.
In an exclusive interview to Smita Mishra of Spicezee.com, the Boys excitedly discuss their first visit to India, their future projects and desire to taste Indian food. Excerpts:
