Ooohhhhhhhh
In the heart
Of the night
When its dark
In the lights
I heard the loudest noise
A gunshot on the floor
Ohhhh Ohhhhh

I looked down
And my shirts turning red
I’m spinning around
Felt her lips on my neck
And her voice in my ear
Like I missed you
want you tonight

The world’s biggest manband, with sales of more than 100million under their belts, called up Moroccan- Swedish producer-songwriter RedOne, real name Nadir Khaya, to give them a new sound.

And the first single Straight Through My Heart, released on September 27, is “poppy as hell”.

Nick Carter told me: “We racked our brains to rediscover who we were. We had to do something different but still familiar. RedOne really wanted to be on our Black & Blue album – he said he studied us, and he’s written songs tailor-made for Backstreet Boys.”

The new Backstreet Boys song has definitely gone “Straight Through My Heart”.  And that’s a good thing.

The fast-paced track hearkens back to the days of Millennium, which is still quite possibly the best boy band album of the ’90s. Their new song, which may be the first single of their forthcoming album, is fun and catchy. Even though the lyrics are oddly reminiscent of Leona Lewis ‘Bleeding Love” (yes, there’s bleeding involved in this one as well), it is the combination of the pulsing beat and the guys’ signature voices that makes it really enjoyable.

BACKSTREET BOYS have high hopes for their second shot at fame – they want to be as big as the ROLLING STONES. The nineties pop act, who enjoyed a string of hits including I Want It That Way, have reformed minus former bandmate Kevin Richardson. Singer Nick Carter has been battling alcohol and drug demons for ten years, but has sobered up for their comeback tour and lost four stone. He says, “There are demons I am fighting but I just want to be fit and healthy. If you fall off the horse, you just have to get back on again. We’re here to stay – we want to be as big as the Rolling Stones.”
